What kind of internet speed would you need with a dedicated server in order to support 1000 players or more?

Some people just opened to a new pserver of a game with similar specs to WoW, but I think they've got a crap server and bad internet connection...there's constantly about 800+ people trying to log in (dudes put 500 people limit for being on server, with 1 hour time limit kick off, and a log in queue that always has like 380 people waiting to log in), and the server crashes every hour or so and lags like hell lol.

What kind of server specs and internet should they have?

To run the ArcEmu server I have, cost me $74.00 a month for internet connection. Hosting from home and was required to subscribe to a commercial account to get the ports opened that are needed.

Not only does the server host the game, but also the website to support it. Website does not get hit that offen, so really no load from it.

Have not had any heavy amount of trafic to really put a load on the system to see what it can take.

Bandwidth: ( just called my provider. I really need to talk to them, they are telling me I have 7mb bandwith )

Computer:

CPU: Quad Core Duo 2.33ghz
Ram: 8gb
HD: 500gb

For that much ( or a little bit more ) you might be able to get some lower-spec dedicated server in a European Union or United States datacenter.
