Window title must be EXACT, including the case (c:\ascent.exe is not the same as C:\Ascent.exe). The executable name must not include .exe and (i think) is case sensitive, i.e. ascent-world or Arcemu-world. Click save and use the command acatestsend (type that into the add message box) to test.

Would love to get this working, but the test message ain't going through.

Executable Name: arcemu-world
EXACT Path: C:\WoWserver\arcemu-world.exe

I copied and edited the path from the explorer itself. I don't know what I'm missing. Typing acatestsend and hitting enter nothing happens in arcemu-world.exe console.

you must check the Enable.
I host my server named Lime Server. i have it set up on public so no hamachi. only my friends play on it atm. if u wanna test it out PM me.

My servers DB is RivalDB! Its the best DB ever (better then NCDB!).

Please note with this announcer application.. If you are running windows 7 you need to launch it with the run as administrator that may apply for vista as well.

Is there some kind of trick to getting this thing to work?

Or is this another out of date tool that is stickied for some bizarre reason?

Yes, I have clicked enable....
yes the path is typed in CoRrECtLy.

If this tool is out of date and doesn't work anymore, then it should be removed.

While I am no longer active in developing for WoW I see no reason why this app would be broken, all it does is send keystrokes to the console window. Some things to look out for:

1) You must have two messages minimum in the messages list. If there is only message, or none, the app will silently uncheck the enable button after the delay interval. Bad design decision, I should have made a messagebox popup or something but whatever.
2) My usage of the word "path" is a little misleading, the second textbox doesn't want the PATH, it wants the title of the command prompt window that ArcEmu is running in. If you are using a batchfile restarter, then the title of the command prompt window will probably be the path to the restarter. Just look at the titlebar for whatever window the ArcEmu console is running in and type it in EXACTLY in the textbox. Another bad design decision I suppose, heh.
3) Make sure there is no .exe in the executable name (first textbox), and that it is spelled correctly. You just want the name of the ArcEmu process as it appears in the task manager, no full path or leading slash or anything. Ninety percent of the time this is "arcemu-world".

I hate to bump such a old topic but has anyone got this to work with using a batch file restarter? my path to the restarter is C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe . When i run the announce without the restarter it works just great, but does not work with the batch file. any ideas?
