Is there any way to acces database from lua scripts ? also run querrys like select, insert, update, delete ? any examples ?

Polling the database from a C++ "script" is a horrible idea as well.

The database shouldn't at all be polled.
It's way too slow.

Data should be cached instead.
Loaded from database on startup, and synced every now and then.
