Hello dear Community of Arcemu.org,

to my person I am 21 years old and go to an advanced technical school, learning informatics.

I'd like to know how to create a patch and apply it with either git or Microsoft Visual.

For example I want to add 3 lines for a c++ file called arena.cpp.

The 3 lines look like that

pl->RemoveAllSpellCooldown();
plTarget->RemoveAllSpellCooldown();
pl->SetHealth(pl->GetMaxHealth());

They shall be added under that line in row 382-385 for example:

Quote

void Arena::OnAddPlayer(Player * plr)

My patch looks like this as of now

Index: arena.cpp
===================================================================
--- arena.cpp	(revision 1282)
+++ arena.cpp	(working copy)
@@ -382+385 @@
{
pl->RemoveAllSpellCooldown();
plTarget->RemoveAllSpellCooldown();
pl->SetHealth(pl->GetMaxHealth());
}

Thanks for the help, I really need to get a good grade, ye I know I might have pick up the most difficult subject to explain in informatics class :P

You don't write a patch by hand.
You simply let Git create it for you...

You change files in your working directory then do
git diff

EDIT:
Is this really that hard to find with Google? :(
