While I was looking in stats.cpp I found this for calculation of the XP relating to the rank of a creature.

				break;
			case 2: // rare elite
				xp *= 2.0f;
				break;
			case 3: // world boss
				xp *= 2.5f;
				break;
			default:	// rare or higher
				//			xp *= 7.0f;
				break;
		}
	}


For rare or higher it's commented out. Why is that ? Now rare or higer mobs doesn't get any extra bonus.

And in the database I found some creature with rank 4 (rare boss) and about 20 creatures with rank 5.

But I don't know what it rank 5 and how to calculate this better in stats.cpp

Blame the source code and find which revision commented this line out. Then check the commit text... maybe it's author wrote the reason.

Ok, in the source I didn't found something. It seems to be commented out since 2008. But I found this:

As I understand in WotLK rare-elite gives normal XP (Normal means what: normal like normal or normal like normal elite ?) but better loot. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out if ArcEmu handles 'better' loot for these rare-elite.
And maybe this is the same with boss and rare-boss.
