Okay, has ArcEmu is growing, slowly, I have thought of a few stuff that may need to be worked on. First thing is, Fishing. Fishing works and all but sometimes you will be running around carrying your fishing pole like your fishing but you can move while holding it and not let you cast spells and such.

Second thing is that The calender events needs to be worked on so each time it turns to that 1 day, for example 10/31/2012, Halloween Objects, and such will spawn during the days of the given week/month on each year. If you know what i mean, we need to make the events spawn auto when the days that the events are on to start then despawn after the last day by a C++ script :)

Got anything else serious about what needs improvement on ArcEmu? Talk it here!

I am starting this thread to help give ideas to the Developers and such to start working and fixing these Medium - Major problems.

I made already a lot of posts in GIT bugtracker and here in the forum.

Fishing:
https://github.com/a...cemu/issues/253 (That's a heavy bug, allows player to cheat)
https://github.com/a...cemu/issues/218 (I'm sure this is not easy to fix)

Calendar events: (If you like this idea make a 'thumb up' post there, please ;)
http://arcemu.org/fo...showtopic=26520 (This we really should implement soon, because of different reason, also because it's easier to maintain the database after)

And btw:
Satanail helped me to find SQL data for calendar event. You can find them in LoE World in a special folder. However they are may not finished and need also scripted stuff. However, as I always say, better than nothing.

And have a look at our website (http://landofelves.net) : We have Hallow's End already (because the Brewfest was missing) :D And players like such gimmicks.
Try out the LoE ArcEmu World database. Please visit dev.LandOfElves.net.

Nice. (I like the work your team has done.) Okay, what else can i think of that is important.

EDIT!!

1. If we could, like start scripting some dungeons and raids. Only if we could.

Well do it then.
For a long time I was against using Lua scripts for this purpose but if you can do this in Lua ( and they are good ), I am willing to add them into the main repository even.
( Maybe later I will convert them to C++ and add them to the official instance plugin )

Well i have experience for C++ scripts, but not enough to actually make it blizzlike :/, and the Github that i have over 2000 Lua scripts is being reviewed and more closer to blizzlike than when i found it or started scripting it. But i'll get started and i'll see what i can do :).

The command, i think its .wp, well waypoint... When you add a waypoint i check the database and it doesn't add it but the npc does it until server restarts. This needs to be reviewed.

I am currently making Lua/C++ scripts for some small easy dungeons and 1 raid.

Suggestion: I thought of 2 new commands. Here they are:

Quote

.battleground enable <Battleground Name or ID>

This command will allow you to enable disabled Battlegrounds.

Quote

.battleground disable <Battleground Name or ID>

This command will allow you to disabl enabled Battlegrounds. This will also be useful if a battleground can cause the server to crash or is not fully supportive.

Quote

Optional: New table:
Battleground_disabled
or
Bg_disabled

This will keep the information of the disabled battleground so the server doesn't let you nor another player to que the battleground/remove it from the list.

Quote

Optional: New config edits:
Instead of the Commands and the new table, just add the it too the configs and you can but the name like example:
Warsong Gulch = 0
Random Battleground = 1

0 = disabled
1 = Enabled

Warsong Gulch crashed me for doing the last #3 flag capture. So i would like to disable.

If you need me to explain more into this, just ask :)

Why not just report the crash so that we can fix it?

Well these commands could be helpful. Also i don't wanna report yet, i wanna test it more and get more on information. :) But i can tell you, the server will crash once you capture the 3 flag to win.

Because it's probably caused by some custom script.

I tried it with and without custom scripts. It still does it. I also have the latest ArcEmu.

UPDATED!
@dfighter, why is there not <DEV> tag?

Should make a command same that has '.gm on' to turn on <GM> tag to your ign and '.gm off' to turn the tag off.

Dev would mean that that player is a Developer :)

'.dev on' will put the <DEV> tag to your ign and '.dev off' will take it off.

GM Level D or A should get it since it has developing commands has what it seems like it.

I don't see the benefit of this to tell you the truth.
I can't recall an occassion when I would have needed a separate class of GM permissions as a developer.

Well a developer is a guy that goes in-game and uses those developing commands, etc. GM most likely answer tickets and such. I thought it would be nice to add the Dev command. The button is even on the official ArcEmu addon that says DEV and right beside it is another button for the GM tag.

That's called a monkey, not a developer.

I don't want it just for my server. I want it into the official arcemu source so other people can use it.

And lol @Dfighter

Huh? There's a dev tag command? I think it's .devtag or .dev.

Maybe first you need to find out the correct commands, before complaining that something is broken...
