I've tried everything I could think of to try and build this core successfully. I've looked on topics posted that were relevant to this issue that I'm having. I don't know if my computer is just successfully trolling me or what. I don't know what I've done wrong.

Here's is the output from building the "Arcemu.sln"

Spoiler

And here is what I get when I attempt to build INSTALL after cleaning the whole solution.

Spoiler

I don't know what to do and this is the most frustrating problem I've ever experienced with a computer program to my knowledge. I compiled a SkyFire 4.0.6a without a hitch, but I assume there is an obvious difference between SkyFire and ArcEMU. What am I doing wrong?

Hi there!

The first error doesn't make much sense to me, at all. I mean I understand what the problem is, I just don't know what is causing it.

As for the second error, that makes a lot more sense:

1> -- Installing: C:/./libmysql.dll
1> CMake Error at cmake_install.cmake:31 (FILE):
1> file INSTALL cannot copy file
1> "C:/Users/Aleksandr/Desktop/ArcEMU/Core/cmake/../dep/dll/libmysql.dll" to

Did you really set the install prefix in CMake to C:\ ?
If so, then the problem is obviously that CMake cannot write there. Choose another directory instead, like what the wiki suggests ( C:\Arcemu ), rerun CMake and rebuild.

I followed your advice, dfighter, and I build the entire solution with nothing failing as it should be. And I set the location for INSTALL to "C:/ArcEMU" like you said. It still fails on building that single file. Is it because C:/ and its contents are protected and are not allowing Visual C++ to write anything there?

Here's the output for INSTALL:

Dfighter is the pro for such problems :-)

I just only can say c:\ (root folder ) and some other system folder like C:\windows etc. are protected by the OS.

C:\arcemu
shouldn't be a problem. But you can try it yourself by creating there a text file and edit it.
Try out the LoE ArcEmu World database. Please visit dev.LandOfElves.net.

Creating files in C:\ is forbidden for non-administrators but creating folders and creating files in these folders seems to be okay. My suggestion: Install ArcEmu into "C:\ArcEmu".
