Ok.. I will tell it to you shortly here.


So.
The gossip system allows you to create gossip menus to NPCs, gameobjects and items without actually knowing any lua.

The lua script basically does all the script stuff for you. All YOU need to do is use SQL and add the needed data to the custom tables.
This system is pretty much like mangos' gossip system or trinity's.

this is really good idea, basically if here will implemented similar gossip system, which loads texts gossips fro database, it might fully will reduce scripts size, because all gossips atm should be scripted via scripts (lua, c++).

also similar patch has been submitted in forums, but patch development stopped.

Well but if you want such gossip system why not just put in a feature request? We could implement it into Arcemu...
Why would anyone even want such features implemented using a Lua script which is horribly slow ( relatively speaking ), when we could just add it to Arcemu.
Anyhow as for your script I suppose I should say good work or something, but I can't judge it since I barely know any Lua ;)

Lets just say that it took about 3 days to make and I wrote the main parts 2 times.

I am a lua noob .. I have only written gossip teleporters before .. and that is rather simple, aye?
So making a system like this took extra time as I didnt even know what a global was, how to do loops and using a new luaengine that has less wiki info.. took a bit more time.

I am already planning on making it load the data when you start the server (or reloadscripts).

You definitely put effort into it, which is commendable, however as I said I am no Lua expert myself so I really cannot judge it.

Ok .. now I made a tabled release which will load all needed data when you start your server or reload your luabridge.
Reduces Mysql stress, but I dont know if it reduces Luaengine stress..

Also added some checks that prevent errors.

Update:

You can now reload gossip_* tables with .reload gossip
You can not reload `units` table.
(Can add it if I get help with unregistering a hook. If it is not possible, I will make a command to reload luaengine from ingame if possible.)

Update:

I enhanced the luaengine check not to error on LHA and figured a way to avoid an error on luabridge caused by getluaengine() not working properly.
Also added conditions table and made it so that no table kills the server execution, so you can have all tables empty and maybe I did some other minor fixes.. cant remember.

Now converted to LHA too.
