We are proud to announce that we now support phases.
http://arcemu.info/trac/changeset/2828

Q&A:

What is this?
Phasing!

Q. What new GM commands are available in-game?
A.
.go phase <new phase> <Save?>
.npc phase <new phase> <Save?>
.character phase <new phase>
.character phase
The spawn commands will set the spawned object's phase to match the player's phase, if it is not the desired outcome, then you can use the above 3 commands. The various info commands should list the phase value too.
If you issue .character phase without additional parameters, then it will show the selected player's phase.

Q. What is a "phase"?
A. It is a bitmask stored in an uint32 variable, if you set it to 4294967295 (0xFFFFFFFF) then that object will be visible to everyone regardless of the phase, and if you set it to 0, it'll be invisible for everyone. However if the core encounters an object with a 0 phase at load time, it'll convert it on the fly to 4294967295, as the 0 phase is something a sane minded person doesn't really want in a database. The player can be in this phase and the core will leave this setting alone, so you can set your phase to 0 and travel the empty world to your hearth's content. The default phase is 1. If you spawn something in phase 2, then only players having phase 2 can see it. However as this is a bit field, a player may be in phase 3 or 6 or anything that has the second bit set and will see it. If you don't know what a bitmask is and how it works, I recommend you to google a bit and learn...
Basically, if you do a bitwise AND operation on 2 phase masks and the result is not 0, then the two objects can see each other; if it is zero, then they can't. This is why two objects with any or all of them in phase 0 can't see each other.

Q. Do mounts, combat and none combat pets work with phases too?

A. Yes! All your pets should enter the same phase you are when you do!
As well, Your horse or other mount is not a pet, it works with phasing as expected.

Q. What about spells?
A. Fireball and the other targeted spells should be OK, and I took some time to fix the other spells too. If I have missed some, then please notify me.
