Greetings, welcome to the first installment of "Developer notes!" :)

Title: Playercreateinfo
Sub: Taximasks

What we've done: We've added a column to `playercreateinfo` called `taximasks`. This allows a user to add starting* taximasks to characters who will automatically start with the given taxi masks.
Usage:
INSERT INTO `playercreateinfo` (taximask)
VALUES ('taximaskhere');
WHERE `race` = 'racehere';

Things like `race` can be switched out for any other column name, or you could just do:
INSERT INTO `playercreateinfo` (taximask)
VALUES ('50');
which would just give everyone the starting mask of 50 ;)

Please suggestions, feedback etc as we will be making more and more notes :)

It seems like the better place to keep starting taxis anyway.

But, does anyone have a list of the taxis and their mask values? (not life or death, just curious)

They should be in the dbc files iirc.

Hmmm... there is 'wonderful' data there, but not the Name - Number format I had hoped for. Oh well. ;)

Maybe in TaxiNodes.dbc? That's the only place I could find anything about Taxi Paths..

To convert DBC's to a readable format...I use this program. It converts them to a CSV format which I then open up in Notepad++ and read.

I already have the program, and was looking at the CSV formatted DBC data. ;) Thanks anyway.

lmao np.

Yeah I'm thinking either TaxiNodes or TaxiPath
I think TaxiPath.dbc's format is Route #, Start #, End #, Cost
That seems to make sense...
TaxiNodes.dbc I think is Path #, Unknown, X Position, Y Position, Z Position, Name, and the rest unknown.

Player.cpp, on Player::Create(WorldPacket & data), around line 720, said:

(1 << (taxi_node_id-1)

Taxi node id is from the dbc files.

it should actually be something like this (not tested for sure)
m_taximask[(taxi_node_id-1)/32] = 1 << ((taxi_node_id-1)%32);

Would it be better for the playercreateinfo field to be a list of taxi nodes? It'd be (a little) more CPU time but we could calculate the mask from the node id, it may make DB editing easier.

Your first "unknown" for taxinode is map #. Also, the Stormwind drop point isn't the point in the DBC's. (I wonder what those values are exactly)

But I like how I'm getting plenty of the wrong information. ;)

EDIT: But, I think I can use the taxinodes data to make world ports and generate a full Name = Mask list.

Lol, I'm sorry...I'm really out of it today...I shouldn't even be on here.

The only use I got out of these files was fixing Thargold Ironwing in Stormwind and fixing the Scourge Gryphons...

but this topic is really interesting...because I'm sure I can get plenty of other uses out of it.

If I'm not mistaken, the "Route #" above would be the taxi_node_id used to calculate the taxi mask. Of course, I could just be mistaken.

It's the mask bit. #2 Stormwind + #4 Sentinel Hill = Taxi Mask of 10. (1010)

On a side note, #1 is west of Northshire Abbey, which is odd.
