The dumps contains valuable information about the crash making it possible for the developers to find the cause to the crash. With that information it's possible to determine at which row in the source code the execution stopped.

When you debug a dump, the machine on which you debug must have access to the
  • PDB files
  • Binaries

To post a crash dump you should include:
  • Stack call
  • Variable values
  • C++ calls

Information from a crash analysis is valuable to the developer, but you can describe your actions taken before the crash occurred. Some functions are called from many places in code and the developer often need to be able to reproduce the error to be able to fix it. The crash info will give an idea of what went wrong and why.

If clarifications are needed you can connect to IRC.

The following should work for Visual Studio Express 2008 (Visual C++ 9)

1. Navigate to the CrashDumps folder.
2. Find the .dmp file and double click (it should open in Visual C++).
3. Select the dmp file in the Solution Explorer.
4. Press you F5 key (assuming you haven't remapped your keybindings).

This should run a simulation of the program in debug mode that recreates the crash event and breaks at the point where you get the crash. For example, if a hunter tries to have their pet use an attack skill such as Claw, it will cause a crash (in revision 2640), and using the above method, the crashdump points me to the Spell.cpp file at line 3009 at the end of the "void Spell::HandleEffects(uint64 guid, uint32 i)" function, indicating that the error may have been caused by a bug in that function.

Can you give us pictures, so we know *exactly* what to look for and do, no offense, but all I can get out of my crash dumps is stacks and output info, can't seem to locate anything about variables and c++ calls.
