I look at the Wiki for more information about the table spell_effects_override, but I missed some information about the values for the rows.

My suggestion for: www.arcemu.org/wiki/Spell_effects_override EffectID

=== EffectID ===

The ID the the Effect targeted.

Thanks for the information to: zdroid9770

There is an issue with this DB. NoxicDB include Playercreateinfo orientation on https://github.com/C...92a71d7135b04de
but the current arcemu not support this. A small update in arcemu would help, or put an older version of the database to git...

It would make sense arcemu would offer a suitable databse and not these third provider stuff which was made for other a other core...

Those spell effect IDs can be found in one of the spell system's header files as an enum. So it's kind of redundant.

As for the database, most of those databases contain data stolen from Blizzard.
So not going to happen.
In fact I'm not even sure it's a good idea to include them on the wiki.
Arcemu probably should provide a default database that contains minimal data to start up Arcemu and allow players to log in to look around, but nothing more.
( 1-2 custom items for every class, some example NPCs, gameobjects, etc, that's all )

Hi dfighter,

Wiki:
in my conception, these are values of the core.
Yes it's kind of redundant, but the Wiki describes the tables, but why not the functions of the values.
It would be easier to see it by clicking on the Wiki than to look for it in the core.

Maybe people can work quickly on their database without opening and searching for one value in the source... and its important to developers to have the right information quick and easy.

Databases:
I wanted to point out that it will happen, that no database exists anymore for arcemu.

Own DB:
I mean everything the core do is based on the data from Blizzard. Every armory (wowhead etc.) based on it.
The spellhandling, instance scripts, questhandling, opcodes... everything includes datas from blizzard and referenced to it.
Why can other projects provide their own database? Yes I know its not a good fact to compare with other projects, but this point must be note.

Is something happen between Blizzard and ArcEmu I need to know?

At the end, its not important what I say. If you do not want it, it is so :-) and the last question is:
"Is there an alternative to continue to maintain an appropriate database?" Setting up a database by a private person?

The spell effect values typically are needed by core / script developers. So for them it's easier to look there than on the wiki :)
However yes there are some values that should be on the wiki, you are right about that, just NOT the spell effects!

As for the database, there's a difference between game data ( creature, gameobject data, spawns, vendor lists, items, etc ) and the protocol ( that is the language that the client understand, so the server MUST speak the same language, otherwise they don't understand each others ).
The values in the "core" are values in the protocol, NOT game data.
Arcemu can work with any game data, it doesn't need to be the same as Blizzard's data.
Using the protocol and allowing Blizzard clients to connect is a legal grey area, however stealing and using stolen game data is outright data theft, which is a crime in every jurisdiction.

Hi dfighter,

okay everything is clear, but there is no proposal for a solution?

Indeed snuffing database from retail servers is a crime, but blizzard doesn't complain too much about it by the looks of it. There are loads upon loads of private servers that use such data, not to mention all the open source projects... Actually, blizzard may have a benefit from this ordeal, after all this is a free advertise. If someone is serious about playing wow he/she will move to retail anyway due to all the bugs in private.

There is still a valid database available for ArcEmu.

But as you see there is no more development on ArcEmu neither on the DB.

And also on Trinity the active development on 3.x and 4.x version will be stopped by end of year.
Try out the LoE ArcEmu World database. Please visit dev.LandOfElves.net.

You can't do much about 3.3.5a since it's old ( path 3.3.5a was released at June 20, 2010 ), there's no way to gather data either by observation or by stealing Blizzard's data.
The best you could do is guess or watch youtube videos.

You can just get all remaining 3.3.5a databases for Trinity, Mangos and any other source you know and try to do the best of it. Yes it is not like snuffing the database straight from retail servers but compare to the other remaining options it is the best solution and there will be much less errors. However it is true that some of the data can no longer be obtained. That is due to the fact that none of the db projects added it. (such is the case with some of the world events). Anyway, there is much to be done on the excising ArcEmu databases even with only that option remaining.

Sniffing not snuffing :P
Snuffing is inhaling tobacco, like this https://www.youtube....h?v=JiDw3t5Oboo heheh

Anyhow you are correct.
Also those events could simply be spawned manually.

Snuffing is inhaling tobacco, like this https://www.youtube....h?v=JiDw3t5Oboo heheh
