Hi

I've come so far as to getting the arcemu-world to run. I've started up arcemu-logonserver and starts arcemu-world and everything seems to go fine up to this:

12:41 N [Arcemu] Server: Ready for connections. Startup time: 41181ms

12:41 N [Arcemu] RemoteConsole: Starting...
12:41 N [Arcemu] CommonScheduleThread: Started.
12:41 N [Arcemu] LogonCommClient: Loading forced permission strings...
12:41 N [Arcemu] LogonCommClient: Attempting to connect to logon server...
12:41 N [Arcemu] LogonCommClient: Authenticating...
Bind unsuccessful on port 8129.Waiting for console thread to terminate....
12:41 N [Arcemu] LogonCommClient: Authentication failed.
Console shut down.
12:41 N [Arcemu] Shutdown: Initiated at Monday, 30 August 2010, 12:41:17
12:41 N [Arcemu] Shutdown: Waiting for loot to finish loading...

Everything seems to be fine in the config files. I'll have a look at the firewall as well but it should be alright.

Any help is appreciated.

//P

Edit:

I found this in the world.conf:

* Listen Config
*
* Host
* This is the address that the server will listen on.
* To listen on all addresses, set it to 0.0.0.0
* Default: 127.0.0.1 (localhost)
*
* WorldServerPort
* This is the port that the world server listens on.
* It has to be the same as what is specified in the
* realms table in the LogonDatabase.
* Default: 8129

I don't have a realms table in my logondatabase but according to the ArcEmu wiki I shouldn't have that either. Am I mixing things up?

Check to see if anything else is using port 8129. If binding is unsuccessful it's possible you're already running something on port 8129.

Thanks for the reply Garvey.

I'll have a look at the port when I get back in and post a reply.

@Garvey:

Found out that something was using port 8129 and Battlenet is using 3724. Don't know if that maters. I basically changed all the ports by adding 1 so 8129 became 8130 and so on. Then everything connected and everything seemed fine.

However, then arcemu-world suddenly disconnects due to what seems to be a closed socket. Anyway, going to search the forum a little bit closer, just wanted to let you know.

18:30 N [Arcemu] Network: Shutting down network subsystem.
Calling ConnectionDropped() due to OnDisconnect().

Ok I sorted the closed socket. Remade the world DB and now both the arcemu-logonserver and arcemu-world are running smoothly.

I do however get a "unable to connect" when I try to log on with WoW. Back to searching ;D

Yes, I found it so now it's stable and running. Did a complete reinstall of the DB's and reconfigured the config files to the original port settings.

I do lack a lot of NPC's in Ogrimmar it looks like neither TBC nor WotLOK are working. Going to have a look at it today but I suppose it 's a DB or compiling issue since 3.3.5a is the version of the DB and WoW.

Thanks, but it turned out to be a stupid misstake. I forgott to set flags on the characters. Everything is working properly now.

Thanks for the help though!
