Our test realm runs on Ubuntu Server 10.10 and it works fine.

okay i found out his problem his girlfriend decided to put a third party filter on his developing computer (she was trying to block sites) and it blocked the ftp server for linux ubuntu downloads.

okay i don't want to hijack my own thread but can you link me to a guide on adding custom c++ to linux files after that lease close this thread

cool, do you make d2 bots? I think i know you from irc am i rite?

hey yes you prpbably know me from irc and no i dont make d2 bots because last time u ised linux for developing was in 2007 and making hacks/antihacks for bots.acclaim which is now closed

configure gets this error
configure.ac:23: installing `./config.gu
configure.ac:23: installing `./config.su

what do you mean

im following this because linux setups have changed a bit

Quote

get automake gcc autoconf zlib libstdc libgd libpcre libtool subversion
most if not all will have the words gcc or g++ in them and all packegs are under devel

NOTE: when installing packages you might get a popup that asks to replace existing just press ok or accept

all done and installed successfully now is time for actual compileing

create folders in your local disk cygwin install folder home an your current username

create folder install and server in the install folder create arcemu and get this svn
https://arcemu.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/arcemu/trunk

after download there should be the folder trunk in arcemu if not create it and move all files into it
now its pretty simple because doing this is like useing cmd
do the following commands
here is a tip to copy and paste click cygwin's icon and select paste
cd install
cd arcemu
cd trunk
autoreconf -fi

compile core :) finally
./configure prefix=/home/**change to current user**/server --enable-debug
sh make_precompiled_header.sh
sh make_precompiled_header_scripts.sh
make && make install

oh and i got a nix package on the package installer and got this

$ autoreconf -fi
libtoolize: putting auxiliary files in `.'.
libtoolize: copying file `./ltmain.sh'
libtoolize: putting macros in `m4'.
libtoolize: copying file `m4/libtool.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/ltoptions.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/ltsugar.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/ltversion.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/lt~obsolete.m4'
libtoolize: Consider adding `AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR([m4])' to configure.ac and
libtoolize: rerunning libtoolize, to keep the correct libtool macros in-tree.

is it safe to continue?

also, according to http://arcemu.org/wi...the_source_code

Quote

NOTE:
If you copy over source code checked out on a Windows machine to any other machine running a different operating system, you will have to change line endings. Look up the package TOFRODOS or google how to do this for your operating system.

I suggest you to carefully read the wiki
