Hello,

I am looking to start a 2.4.3 private server mainly for me and my family to play together and re-experience the Burning Crusade expansion to World of Warcraft.

I have tried many 2.4.3 repacks but unfortunately, they are all outdated and really buggy. I try to fix them myself, but I don't have enough experience but experience enough most the bugs on those servers are unfixable without an actual core edit.

So I decided I should just compile a 2.4.3 server.

Can anyone here give me a tutorial link on how to do that? I couldn't find an updated post on Google anywhere.

Hi there, unfortunately for you we are only able to provide any kind of support for the latest revision of Arcemu.
However generally speaking you want to check out the 2.4.3 tag of Arcemu, compile it and get a compatible database.
I think whydb can provide you one of those databases.

Could you guide me on the best way to compile a 2.4.3 core? I'm new at compiling, so. I'll try to look for a way to get whydb 2.4.3 for ArcEmu

But, some people on ac-web.org claim to have a compiled 2.4.3 ArcEmu core, so there much be a way of doing it.

And if there isn't and the rumors aren't true,
I know its an old patch, but why just forget about it when people (like me) would like to see it come back alive?

The files are there. So if you are knowledgeable you can build and use it. It's that simple.

Almost the same way as you would build the latest revision.

Sorry, I must've not introduced myself that well.

I have played World of Warcraft Retail since December 2006.
I have a few 85s and many level 40+ alts.
My family also plays.
Lately my internet has been acting up due to my family moving to a different area that our internet service barely reaches.
So I searched all over the web in curiosity looking for a possible way to make World of Warcraft playable offline.
My friend who lives down the street from me introduced me to a website called Ac-webs. Where I learned about Private Servers.
While I browsed ac-webs, I found alot of information like where you can actually go back patches and play previous versions of the game.
So I spent the last month connecting to patch 2.4.3 servers but all are funservers or their ideas of "Blizzlike".
So I started to wonder how to make my own Burning Crusade server.
Ended up here.
~The End~

My story of my experiences.

So if you would kindly explain on how to "build" the latest version and what to do, I would gladly appreciate it! Like greatly, greatly =]

Sorry if I'm giving you a hard time, I would really like to know how to do this stuff. =/

~ Sincerely OMFGBBQSAUCE.

Hey there and welcome to our magnificent forums lol

Unfortunately posting your introduction in the wrong section will not help you, since setting up a server is not about that.
The fact that you are from ac-web ( or some similar site ) was fairly obvious from your first post.
All I can say is that I would say to any of your peers, setting up a server ( any kind, not just a wow server ) requires experience and expertise of a system/network administrator.
You can usually get those from college or by self-teaching (usually taught in college as a 2 years long program). In any case there are lots of "guides" on the forums, maybe you should read them? They might be of some help if you can at least use your computer as well as a "power user" ( knowing how to turn it on and download porn doesn't count ).

If you click on my favorite coffee mug you will be taken to the official Arcemu wiki, where surprisingly you will find some useful information about setting up Arcemu:

Unfortunately the mug doesn't contain a spoon, so I am unable to spoonfeed you further.

One more question: Will compiling 2.4.3 be similar to compiling 3.3.5a?

Example:
Just replace the part about,

Quote

Now, after you finished download and installing everything, and after rebooting your computer, we can now start downloading the files!
So, create a ArcEmu folder wherever you want. For me, it is going to be C:\ArcEmu . Right-click on the folder, and click on "SVN Checkout" Now put this link in the URL of Repository : svn://arcemu.info/svn/trunk
Now click Ok and it will start downloading.

What I did was replace,
svn://arcemu.info/svn/trunk

with
svn://arcemu.info/svn/tags/2.4.3

And I'm wondering if it would work? Please Respond. Thank you for your in-tell.

I might get told off for saying the following, but if you google search for < i am 12 yrs old and use a repack >
It supports 2.3.3 initially but i believe it also supports 2.4.3 and its pretty blizzlike.
It also comes with all the tools you need to extract the DBC's and Maps. (warning dont ask for support for that here though)

Also if you compile the latest rev of ArcEmu its still like Burning Crusade just with a bit extra (Northrend) plus if you are useing the latest version of ArcEmu self Compiled you also qualify for support from the guys and girls here :)

if you want to try compiling the 2.4.3 version from the svn you can borrow (steal) the database from the repack above also the extraction tools saves compiling them :)

Reason for edit: do we really have to put their noses in it? :)

There are dll files in the branch folder you also need for compiling. Your probably better off just downloading everything from

Would be less confusing if you moved up to the latest ArcEmu version.

As i said you would probably get more help if you are up to date and LK is not all That Different than BC :)
