Hey all,
I'm trying to make the sword from the south park episode (http://www.wowwiki.c...28South_Park%29). I've got it so it's almost perfect, but this last part has me stumped. I need the sword to instantly drain all mana from the target. I think I've got a pretty good idea about how to do this, but I'm pretty sure it requires me to write my own spell. So far it looks like the only way this is going to happen is if I modify spellhandlers.dll. Am I on the right track?

If so, could someone give a little more insight about how this beast works? I'm confident in myself that I'll be able to write the spell once I understand a bit more about it. I've never written/modified a DLL before. I mostly only know PAWN (based on C, for GTA SA), Javascript and some C++. :)

Any help or tips are appreciated.

No, you dont modify the DLL specifically, this would require a core edit and C++ knowledge and an understanding of the arcemu spell system so if you dont know either of those, or just one, then i suggest go reading/looking it/them up!

or maybe someone will be kind enough to do it for you :) as an alternative you could just use a pre-existing spell that drains all the mana from the target (use wowhead or something to find one) best of luck!

I think you can take a unused spell attach that to the sword, and then in in the spells.cpp, or the one intended to overide spells that have more of a server side effect, and in there make it drain players mana. But as mentioned above that would be core editing.

I believe we have a file called "ItemSpells.cpp" that's part of scripts. You can utilize this to make a custom effect for your item :( Alternatively you can create a spell effect/implement an unimplemented spell effect to do what you're looking for :)
