I understand that what I am about to suggest has little use to many users, and would be too much to include in an actuall Arcemu release, but I will try.

I am new to Lua, so it irritates me when a new Lua is released, rendering my scripts useless.

What I would like to see is a kind of compatability mode for Lua, something you enable or disable in the configs, that you can put in a Lua file, as follows.

UseEngineVer = (some old ver we would like to use)

We would be able to download old Lua engines from the site, and ask the script to use them instead of the latest, therefore allowing the use of these so called Lagacy scripts.

Why would I suggest this, you might ask? I made several good scripts with LuaHypArc, which will be unusable with the new Lua in development.

You already can do this and it's explained already at
or am I missing something
on a side note, I didn't get the "I'm new to Lua" and then "I made several good scripts" : one of these should be wrong

The old interpreter is still there but you'll have to compile it manually. In linux mode, you need to edit the and the in the scripts/src folder to have it compile the old intepreter.

The LCF source files will be modified to allow the old function names to be still used with the new luabridge, that way, most scripts would still work as intended.
