Acknowledgements: Jackpoz, dfighter, artox and anyone else that actually helped - THANK YOU!

As any good engineer/architect/system admin, first you make sure that your going to have enough oomph to run this beast. THIS WILL NOT RUN ON YOUR OLD Pentium 200MMX (Ok, it will but you'll have 100 users sleeping at the kb)!!

The wiki was my main source of information and for all who have contributed to it - excellent work. The linux guide is solid and better then any of the other emu guides I have seen to date. The other emu's I have seen should take notes!

Compile configure was as follows:

./configure prefix=/home/dsr/wow/server --enable-optimize

Notice that it is being installed to a non-standard place.

Also, one step that is missing from the wiki for the pre-compiled headers, is the pre-compiled scripts:
sh make_precompiled_header_scripts.sh

From there, like the wiki states, you can run:
make -j 5 && make install

NOTE: In my case, -j 5 represents two dual core processors. It's always cores +1.

The only other issue I had was the vmap tools. Those are now available on the wiki but remember that you will need the dlls to run them under wine. The same applies for ad.exe .

As for the WoW client and map extraction, make sure that your install is fresh and clean, no upgrade from other retail packages you may own. (eg. BC BattleChest Edition) This will insure fewer problems when doing vmap, map and DBC extraction.

Stats & Account Creation:

This was a bit interesting. I am using a modified version of this : php parsing stats.xml and for account creation web pages: Web Account Creation(SPORA?) . Both work well.

For the stats.xml , you will need to change your world.conf and point it in a web folder with however you named your php file.
<StatDumper FileName = "/var/www/stats.xml" Interval = "60000">

Firewall/Routing:

You only need two ports open/forwarded & accepting traffic for outsiders to play (www.portforward.com).
If you have an iptables script already, you can add the following:
#ArcEmu WoW Logon Server
$IPTABLES -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8129 -j ACCEPT
#ArcEmu WoW World Server
$IPTABLES -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 3724 -j ACCEPT

This will keep you from opening anything unnecessary and possibly compromising your system.

Have fun and i hope the extra information helps someone!
